2025 is now in full swing, and I’m delighted to share MobilityVC’s latest investment: Mansio, a promising mobility startup based in Aachen, Germany, right on the border with the Netherlands and Belgium.
Being located at such an important crossroads is no fluke, as the company’s platform promises to dramatically improve the efficiency of the transcontinental trucking that powers Europe’s logistics network. Mansio’s software improves truck routing, speeds up trailer handovers and reduces deadhead loads: adding up to big reductions in fuel consumption and environmental impact.
Founder Dr. Maik Schürmeyer has really impressed us with his vision and tenacity, bringing in other knowledgeable backers like STS Ventures.
I believe this is the first of many big moments for the mobility space in 2025, as I lay out in a new opinion piece for Zag Daily. With valuations back down to earth, and new traction for promising technologies like hydrogen, I think we’re going to see early stage mobility reaccelerate in the coming year.
And speaking of acceleration… the MobilityVC team is off to New Orleans for NADA — the National Automobile Dealer Association’s annual gathering. We’ll be supporting our clients and portfolio companies, and I hope to meet with some promising new ventures as well. If you’ll be in the area, please drop us a line to meet as well.
Here’s to a prosperous 2025,
-Sam
